    Coconut Oil Description:

Coconut oil is a non-volatile, non-fragrant plant kernel oil which is extracted from raw coconuts. It is rich in high saturated fat making it a perfect emollient for skin and hair. Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain fatty acids, which can also be called medium chain triglycerides (MCT), which are deeply conditioning and can help tame dandruff. Consuming virgin coconut oil can increase the antioxidant content of skin which helps to relieve inflammation which can sooth conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema.

Coconut oil is not an ingredient you want to use if you suffer from oily skin or hair as it will block pores and make hair appear greasy. Keep in mind that coconut oil should not be used as a replacement for sun cream as it does not provide sufficient protection as it only has an SPF of 7 whereas people need an SPF of around 15 to 30. This means coconut oil only blocks around 20% of the UV damage caused by the sun. This can cause premature ageing and damage to your hair.
