How To Get The Jared Leto Hairstyle From Morbius? Credit: mikeruizone
Jared Leto is one of those characters that knows how to steal the show on and off screen. A talent he probably honed from his days as front man to the alternative rock band Thirty Seconds To Mars which he started up with his sister back in 2002. The band filled up the Kerrang Top 100 chart with their most iconic releases such as The Kill (2005) and Kings and Queens (2009) just to name a few. Not only is Leto a great musician, but he is also a great actor and actually started his acting career appearing in small roles way before he started Thirty Seconds To Mars.
Jared Leto has had many minor roles in many iconic films that have given him the opportunity to support big stars The Thin Red Line (1998), starring Sean Penn and Adrien Brody, and Fight Club (1999) which featured Hollywood gold, such as Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. It doesn’t stop there either as Leto also appeared in Girl Interrupted (1999), starring the 90s dream team Winona Ryder and Angelia Jolie, and also appeared in the 2000’s black comedy horror film American Psycho which featured Welsh legend Christian Bale. These days Jared Leto takes on meatier roles in bigger films such as Dallas Buyers Club (2013) which earned him an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, and a Screen Actors Guild award for the Best Supporting Actor. Leto has starred as the Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad, Blade Runner 2049 (2017), and just last year he starred in House of Gucci (2021) alongside music icon Lady Gaga as well as Hollywood royalty such as Al Pacino, Salma Hayek, Jeremy Irons and Adam Driver.
This year Leto is playing a biochemist turned bloodsucker in the retelling of Marvel’s Morbius! He is the perfect fit for this role as he always comes to set armed with his serious method acting skills and his beautifully groomed hair. The perfect person for this role. So, we have put together a style guide on how you can recreate Jared Leto’s Morbius haircut along with a bonus hairstyle.
How To Cut:
First you need to make sure you have given your hair plenty of time to grow out to achieve the true length that Jared Leto has in the Morbius film. You want to aim for just past your shoulders. Then head to a salon and ask for someone who is confident with handling longer hairstyles. You’ll want to trim the ends till they’re around shoulder length using the point-cutting method. This will make your hair look natural and remove any split ends that appeared during your hair growth journey.
TIP: To enhance this look it’s best to do it like Leto and take the time to grow in that beard as well.
How To Style:
If you’re going for Dr Morbius’ hairstyle that he wears, the only change you will need to make is trying your hair back in a low hanging bun (see image below). However, it is still important to keep that sharp centre parting.
We have done one Marvel look so we may as well treat you to another. This cut is a lot shorter than the last and was worn by Jared Leto when he played his version of the Joker in Suicide Squad (2016). This cut only requires a month or two of hair growth just so you can get that good length on top and can be worn with or without a beard.
How To Cut:
Ask your barber for a slicked back haircut with a long undercut (show picture above for reference). You are going to start by sectioning off the top hair, so it is out of the way then go in and cut the bottom hair starting with a #2 at the base and working up into a #3. Overcomb the hair to make sure it is neat and blended together well. Let the top hair down and point cut the front hair at around 5-6 inches long then slowly taper it off towards the back until it's around 3-4inches at the crown of the head. Create a middle parting to check all the hair is even, snip off any lengths that do not match, and then sweep it back for a finished look.
How To Style:
Enjoy styling these two wicked Jared Leto hairstyles.
