    von Zheelana Cottam

Andrew Garfield is a British-American actor who you probably know best for playing The Amazing Spider Man back in 2012 and The Amazing Spider Man 2 (2014) two years later. The public loved Garfield’s portrayal of the young Peter Parker and the energy he showed when playing against everyone’s favourite redhead, Emma Stone, who played his Mary-Jane. Spoiler alert!: Recently, Garfield re-joined the Marvel Universe starring next to his successor Tom Holland and predecessor Toby Maguire in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) which is still in cinemas now. If you haven’t watched it yet… let me tell you, you’re missing out.

Garfield does have an extensive acting career outside of the MCU, too. Most recently he has played struggling musical genius in the retelling of Johnathon Larson’s life Tick Tick Boom! (2021).  He also played eccentric and hot-headed Link in the 2020 movie Mainstream in which he becomes the subject piece for a struggling filmmaker after she witnesses his unusual life. Earlier in his career Andrew Garfield could be found in a lot of war films such as Lions for Lambs (2007) and Hacksaw Ridge (2016). He also played billionaire entrepreneur and co-founder of Facebook, Eduardo Saverin, in the 2010 film The Social Network for which he earned a BAFTA and Golden Globe.

So, to inspire your next look we are giving you a breakdown of two of Andrew Garfield’s haircuts and hairstyles for you to try out.

Hairstyle 1: Quiff with short back and sides

This Andrew Garfield haircut is great for people with a thick head of hair and would like to keep things short but stylish. After all, who wouldn’t want to look like the Amazing Spider-Man? So, book an appointment with your barber and ask him for a short back and sides with a pushed back quiff (show picture above for reference). And let them know this haircut is completely done with scissors.

    How To Cut:

For the back and sides, you will want to comb the hair up and scissor-cut till about half an inch from the head. Start at the book and move forward towards the sides and stop at the same height of their temples. For the top hair you’re going to cut it around two and a half inches at the front and then taper it off towards the back so all your hair blends together. Finally, your barber can feather and thin out the top hair with his scissors to make your hair appear fluffy and full of volume.

    How To Style:

    • To style your hair you will need to start off with damp, towel dried hair. For this style we suggest using a pre-styler like our Styling Funk. This will help your hair last longer throughout the day. Scoop a pea sized amount of product and work it in your hair from back to front and root to tip.
    • Next you will need our Matte Lava Clay. Apply it in the same way as the previous product. Then using your fingers style your hair in the direction you want it to sit. Andrew Garfield goes for a pushed back quiff.
    • Now grab your hairdryer and on a medium heat. Blow dry your hair up and back to give it that volume. Now turn the hairdryer to the cold setting to lock your hairstyle in place.

    Hairstyle 2: The undercut

Andrew Garfield’s acting in Hacksaw Ridge (2016) was unmatched as he played the Desmond Doss, a soldier who refused to kill for his country because it went against his religious beliefs. It was also a chance for Garfield to bring back haircuts from the 1940s.This slick military haircut only needs a minimum amount of product to maintain making it very low maintenance.

    How To Cut:

For the top hair use scissors to cut the hair around 5 inches. Then taper the hair off towards the back of the head. From the bottom of the hair to the top of the ears you want to #2 and then from the tip of the ear upwards you will want to taper into a #3. Then go through and make sure the hair is well blended.

    How To Style:

    • Hop out of the shower and towel dry your hair until it is damp, not dripping.
    • Next you will need some hair wax. Scoop up a pea-sized amount of our NO GUNK Styling Funk and rub the product well between your fingertips. Then apply product throughout the hair starting at the back and moving frontward, from root to tip. This will give your hair that medium hold and high shine that Garfield has in Hacksaw Ridge
    • Comb your hair back using your fingers to give it some direction. You want this style pushed back but not flat. To counteract this, use your hairdryer on a medium heat to blow dry your hair in the same direction.
    • Finally blast your hair with the cold air to set the look and you’re done.
